We’re excited to introduce new features that will greatly improve your warehouse operations: Current Location and Current Logistic Unit. These two updates work in the same way, allowing you to scan locations and logistic units just once, saving valuable time during the order line execution process.
The SCAN field has now been enhanced to recognize both locations and logistic units that are not in SSCC format, specifically scanning values from the LogisticUnits.SerialCode field, which do not contain any content in their definition. When a valid location or logistic unit is scanned, it will be stored in the WMS Worker’s memory, eliminating the need to scan it every time you execute an order line. After scanning a location or logistic unit, if a product is scanned next, the system will bypass unnecessary screens and take you directly to the quantity screen (unless additional information like lots or serial numbers is required).
From previous versions, we know that you can also enter a quantity directly into the SCAN field. If a quantity, location, and logistic unit (LUN) are all scanned, followed by a product, and no additional information such as lots or serial numbers is required, the system will skip the execution process for that line. Instead, the line will automatically be executed with the entered data, including the location, LUN, and quantity, without the need to go through the usual execution steps. This streamlines the process, saving time and reducing the need for manual entry during line execution.
We’ve also put measures in place to prevent the same logistic unit from having availability in more than one location, as this goes against best practices and doesn’t make sense operationally.
