In the ERP.BG system, Notifications are real-time alerts that keep users informed about critical events—whether it's a new document, an update in a chat, or changes in a client record. These alerts power the My Notifications app in the web client, designed for real-time event announcements that help users react promptly and stay on top of their work. If you're new to Notifications or want to understand the foundations, we recommend reviewing our previous guide on version 23: Notifications system – Real-time events notifications (v.23). Since then, notification classes have steadily expanded, and version 25 introduces a set of powerful enhancements that make it easier to manage, group, and respond to events—clearly and efficiently.
What’s new in Notifications v.26
1. Quick actions from the notifications menu
A user-friendly dropdown menu provides shortcuts to show all notifications, only unread ones, or mark all as read. (Note: A separate post will cover the “Open My Notifications” settings panel.)
2. Smart grouping with “Group by Object”
Users now see a total count of unread events in the bell icon. Enabling “Group by object” condenses notifications by context—such as a specific document or client, or chat-group —presented in chronological order for a clean, manageable view.
3. Badge count per object group
When grouped by object, each section shows a badge with the number of individual unread notifications tied to that object. The section also informs of the number of the rest notifications for this object.
4. Menu for group actions
Hovering over the badge swaps it to a menu icon; clicking it opens an option to “Mark group as read” for that group, enabling fast clearing of multiple notifications.
And of course - the opposite action "Mark last as unread" is possible - it will revert to unread only the last individual notification, so that you can attend it later.
5. Manage notifications individually too
Users can still manage individual notifications directly, with intuitive controls shown alongside each entry.
6. Context-aware opening of events
Clicking a group notification takes the user straight to the latest relevant event—whether it’s a highlighted chat message or the document itself—improving focus and reducing extra clicks.
7. Notification badges next to each application
You can now easily see where new activity has occurred directly from the left app bar! Each application now shows a small badge indicating the number of unattended notifications related to objects within that app – for example, a new task, comment, or project update.
🔔 The global notification bell still shows all updates, but this new feature gives you a faster, more focused way to stay informed by module.
➡️ This will help you:
React more quickly to important changes
Focus only on the modules you work with
-
Save time and reduce unnecessary clicks
8. Clearer, smarter, more meaningful icons
We’ve refreshed the action icons you see in the Notification classes list to make them more intuitive, consistent, and visually meaningful.
🧠Now, we’ve taken it a step further: introducing a new visual system that stacks two icons — one for the application context and one for the action performed. With this novelty you receive:
Better visual clarity – instantly see what happened and where it happened.
Faster recognition – the action icon stands out (e.g., assigned, edited, commented), making it easier to scan notifications.
Modern and consistent design – sleek, unified look across the system.
📍 Example: If a document “Order” is assigned in the “Presales” app, you’ll see the Presales icon with a smaller assign icon neatly layered on top.
9. Notifications section in Application navigation
We’ve added a new Notifications section to the navigation panel of each application.
It shows only your unread notifications, using the same look and feel as the notifications list.
The notification badge is still available, and the counts in all badges — both for individual applications and the total number of unattended notifications — match perfectly.
Benefits:
Quick access to unread notifications without leaving the application context.
Clear structure for reviewing important updates at any time.
Focused view with only relevant, application-specific events.
10. Background notifications based on presence
Depending on the user's status, the system either sends or does not send background notifications.
🔗How does it work?
If the user is not in the Available status, the notification is sent immediately in the background.
If the user is in the Available status, the notification is not sent again, in order to avoid unnecessary duplication.
🔗Why is this important?
This optimization ensures that users do not miss important notifications when they are not active, while at the same time reduces distractions when they are online and in the system.
11. Stopped creation of notifications to non-internal users
As of v.26, the system will no longer generate notifications for Non-Internal users (including Virtual and External users).
Reason: Notifications to such users cannot be attended or resolved. This change ensures notifications remain relevant and actionable.
✅ Wrapping up
Version 26 makes the Notifications system smarter, cleaner, and more actionable than ever. From quick actions and smarter grouping to clearer icons and presence-aware delivery, these changes are all about helping you stay focused, respond faster, and work with confidence.
As we continue to evolve Notifications, our goal remains the same: to give you the right information, at the right time, in the right place.
