Inventory Control Improvements (v.26)

The latest version of Inventory Control brings a series of practical enhancements that give workers more control during store operations and streamline everyday warehouse tasks.

Whether you need to adjust quantities on the fly, work in multiple measurement units, or get more clarity on your orders — this release makes it easier and more intuitive than ever.

🔢 Edit Counted Quantity During Execution

You can now correct scanned or counted quantities while the operation is still in progress.

Instead of canceling the operation or manually fixing store transactions afterward, users can simply tap on the quantity, edit it, and confirm.

  • Corrections are saved instantly

  • Zero counts are now recorded as explicitly zero, not just skipped

  • Works in Receive, Issue, Scrap, Transfer, and Quick Reconcile

This dramatically improves accuracy and minimizes friction during fast-paced operations.

📦 Choose Measurement Unit per Operation

We’ve added a new Choose Measurement Unit menu for Receive and Issue.

Each user can now switch between:

  • Ordered – The unit in which the order was created

  • Default – The product’s standard storage unit

  • Base – The base unit of the product

💡 This improves clarity when working with diverse storage formats like kg, cartons, bottles, or bulk. Product codes remain tied to the default unit, and all quantities are recalculated automatically based on dimensions.

Your selection is remembered per user and per operation — and the final Store Transaction always reflects the original ordered unit.

🗑️ Smarter Bin Functionality

There are now two types of bins available in all Inventory Control operations:

  • Delete-all Bin – Clears all counts or executions for a product, with a confirmation message

  • Delete-row Bin – Removes individual count lines (especially useful for lots or variants), with no confirmation

This gives workers the ability to quickly undo mistakes, whether the whole product was miscounted or just a single lot entry.

Combined with the new editable quantity field, these controls make Inventory Control much more forgiving and user-friendly — even in complex environments.

🧾 Custom Order Display Format

By default, the order list shows the To Party as the first line. But what if you need something else — like the Parent Document or Internal Notes?

You can now configure the display format using a new config key:
/InventoryControl/OrderDisplayFormat

This key supports string interpolation, allowing you to mix and match order header fields.
For example:
Parent: {Parent}, Notes: {DocumentNotes:T}, Master: {MasterDocument}

Will display like:
Parent: Invoice Order 00001, Notes: ASAP, Master: Sales Order 00001

This is especially useful for companies working with complex document flows, where knowing the full order context upfront helps workers prioritize better.

📦 GS1 Barcode Support

Inventory Control now supports GS1 barcodes, enabling automatic recognition of:

  • GTIN (Global Trade Item Number)

  • Lot Number

  • Serial Number

  • Quantity

With GS1, operators can scan a single barcode that includes all the necessary information — the system finds the matching line and executes it immediately, with no need for manual input.

This drastically reduces errors and improves speed during receiving, issuing, or reconciling large batches of serialized products.

For example, scanning:
(02)000008(10)77677(37)300
will automatically fulfill the line if it matches a product, lot, and quantity.
