Staying organized just got easier. Version 26 brings a set of focused improvements to the Calendar and Activities modules, designed to make scheduling more intuitive, task management more efficient, and user interaction smoother. Whether you're planning your own workload or coordinating with a team, these updates help reduce friction and enhance daily workflows.
The following updates help users better manage their time, responsibilities, and planning:
Week numbers in Calendar
The Calendar now displays Business Week numbers - a clearer, more consistent, and easier-to-understand weekly numbering model that eliminates confusion around the turn of the year while maintaining compatibility with ISO 8601.
Unlike ISO, where early January days may belong to the previous year and late December days to the next, the Business Week approach assigns them consistently:
First days of January → BW 0 of the new year
Last days of December → final BW of the same year
This ensures week numbers always match the calendar year of the date. The result:
- User clarity: Users always see a week number that corresponds to the date's calendar year.
- Consistency in reports and filters: Data from a given calendar year is always grouped together.
- Easier visual navigation: Week numbers follow a natural order with no unexpected jumps.
- ISO compatibility: Only the boundary weeks differ; all other weeks match ISO.
Business Week numbers appear in Month and Workweek calendar views, as well as in the Date picker, giving users clear weekly context when planning or selecting dates.
New timeline view node now integrated in some navigators
The updated Calendar introduces a new Timeline view designed to give users a clear, continuous perspective of activities over longer periods of time. Its linear format makes it easier to track overlapping or consecutive events and plan work more efficiently.
Timeline is also available as a dedicated feature in certain navigators: by enabling it in the navigator’s Menu, you can now switch to the Calendar interface, allowing the same Timeline view to be applied to Marketing Activities, Product Prices, and Line Discounts.
Restricting access to activities based on social group membership
In the new version of the Web Client, additional security measures have been introduced for working with activities. Access to activities is now determined based on a user's membership in a social group.
- The visibility of activities in the Navigator, Global Search, and when accessing it directly via link or ID, is restricted if the user is not a member of the social group the activities originated from.
- When a user is removed from a social group, their previous access to the group's activities is automatically and immediately revoked.
- Only Administrators can see all activity records without any restrictions.
These improvements ensure precise access control and protection of sensitive information within the social structure of smaller teams as well as larger organizations.
Extended tooltip and start time
When hovering over an activity in the Calendar, users can now see a more informative tooltip, allowing for instant preview of key details. These include the Subject, time range, Responsible Party, Target Party, and Document Type of the activity. If participants are listed, up to the first three will appear in a list under a separate "Participants" section.
Starting times are also visible directly to the left of the title of each activity entry.
Automatic Responsible Party assignment
When an activity is assigned to a user, the system now automatically sets the Responsible Party to the Person associated with that user—if such a Person exists. If no Person is linked to the user, the Responsible Party is left unset.
This logic ensures consistency while reducing manual input and potential errors.
Auto-adding Responsible Party as activity participant
When a Responsible Party different from the Owner Party is selected in an activity document, the system now automatically includes them in the list of Activity Participants. This guarantees seamless synchronization with Microsoft 365, where a Responsible Party must also be listed as a participant.
The new logic ensures data consistency and keeps the participants list accurate without removing any manually added users.
